My name is Jianne Andraya Whelton. I was born in Massachusetts, and have lived in the Netherlands, the UK, France, Belgium, Australia, and Mexico. I currently reside in the US.
My skill set is varied. I draw from a palette of contemplative, somatic, psychic, and energetic approaches to work with the body, mind, and field of a person.
I believe that self-care leads to self knowledge, and in practice, to self respect.
I honor your ancestors, and your life, and your path, and so look forward to sharing time and space with you.
My lineage is Italian and Irish (and rumors). I am aware that my heritage has both prepared me for this life and also that I am a pioneer of sorts.
I am a devoted meditator, with a couple of decades’ experience as a Vipassana practitioner, as well as some deeper instruction in Mahayana, Vajrayana, and Tantra.
I studied Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Medicine theory at École de Shiatsu Iokaï Paris under Master Christine Breton and Kazunori Sazaki sensei, and have gained further understanding of the body (subtle and not) through practical study of human anatomy and biochemistry, nutrition, herbalism, and Ayurveda.
I began practicing yoga in 1996. I earned my RYT 200 from Tara Judelle in 2018 and learned to practice and understand Yin yoga from Paul and Suzee Grilley in 2019.
My liminal skills have been developed through intensive training in human psychic anatomy, decades of personal psychedelic practice, and some instruction and initiation into ritual and ceremonial proceedings in Australia and Mexico.
